Ensaders
Ensaders is a collective composed of Yann Bagot, Kevin Lucbert and Nathanaël Mikles.
The three artists met in 2003 at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Their friendship and artistic complicity gave rise to shared images: they drew simultaneously and blended their lines on the same medium, in the studio or during public performances.
These images are made up of a multitude of elements in which it is difficult to distinguish the specific contribution of each of the artists. As for the content, or the subjects evoked, Ensaders' offbeat approach allows them to present current events with an undeniable critical distance and to address, "as if it were nothing", subjects as profound as the contemporary condition of the individual ("We are not alone"), his relationship with the environment ("The dirty chemists" and "Every landscape is a tragedy") or the shameless exploitation of men, land and wealth ("We come in peace").
Their style evokes both the architectural motifs and labyrinthine structures of MC Escher, the colorful dreamlike compositions of Hervé Di Rosa or lowbrow art with which they share the ability to reinterpret the codes of so-called "popular" media, such as comics, graffiti, advertising or cartoons.
Ensaders' creations are regularly the subject of publications and exhibitions in France and Europe. The collective shares its original practice with the public during educational workshops and participatory installations, as has been the case at the Louvre Museum, the Picasso Museum, the Louis Vuitton Foundation, and the Centre Georges Pompidou.
