As the name suggests, Conjurations is a series of protective drawings.

Or were these objects, of which no one knows where they came from, nor what exactly they could be used for, which, by magically emerging from the organic thickness of his sheet, allowed him to reconnect with his childhood and overcome his old fears?

Patiently, line after line, point after point, flint and feathers, shells and husks, leaves and flowers, signs and weavings, combs and nails, rituals appear...
Lucky charms, amulets, talismans, lucky charms, fetishes. For the bottom of your pocket or the palm of your hand. For exchange, for sharing. There was a time when nature and man were one.

Born in 1984, Mélanie Pasquier lives and works in Savennières near Angers. She is a graduate of the Angers School of Graphic Design (EEGP) and the UFR Arts Plastiques at the Sorbonne. She draws and paints.
