"Due to global warming, sea levels will rise by one meter this century and up to five meters in the next. Rising sea levels are a fact. But it is impossible to know exactly when and how quickly the water will rise.
For most of us, the problem may seem abstract or distant. So, yes, our generation may be able to stay dry, but what will the consequences be for our children and their children? Will my daughter live on a floating house or will she have to move to the Swiss coast? She has no political power today, but she is the one who will suffer the consequences of the change, and so will her children.
We need to talk about this. We need to tackle the issue head on."

Refusing to limit himself to a simple evocation, and keen to make the effects of climate change and rising sea levels concrete, Henri Blommers introduced plants collected at the locations of his shots throughout the creative process (development, printing) (in particular plants whose growth is favored by climate change, such as blackberries and nettles). The film used in this work was boiled in seawater before use or soaked in salt water after development, and the images were sprayed with salt or seawater before being scanned.
