In Nathalie Siegfried's work, the choice of hues is often linked to an event in the artist's life. A harmony of colors, in an image or in real life, a simple juxtaposition can trigger obsessive series in search of balance... 

The choice of paper is also of crucial importance:

- on glossy papers, the color glides and promotes the soft transparency of light colors

- on porous papers, the color sinks and dense, dark shades reveal depth.

The works selected for Arterritoires are all inks on porous paper.

Their motifs are representative of those that the artist explores through his particular technique. Isolated form where the right harmony of colors creates a strange effect of depth, monochrome forms that delicately touch and penetrate each other on their margins, complementarity of forms and shades, superpositions and  cell divisions. 

A stroke of the pen sometimes restores balance to the space on the page.
