Magmatic fragments or abyssal remains,
Rocky gangues conducive to the proliferation of iridescent scales,
Curious geodes, animal bark,
Metamorphic folds sheltering microcosms in their interstices
and endlessly moving efflorescences…
Wandering between different artistic approaches and artisanal practices (sculpture, creation and refinement of textiles, costumes, scenography, landscape and architectural installations), Marion Hawecker explores and works with bird feathers.
Captivated by "what moves the world," she undertakes the exploration of cosmogonies and beliefs, sciences and contemporary narratives that seek to think about the living and the perpetual reorganization of beings and things. She never ceases to learn to look, to learn to give herself the time to observe intensely, to learn to capture the movement of everything that lives, breathes, crystallizes, grows, erodes, decomposes and dies, to learn to the point of perceiving the slowest movements, even slower than continental drift.
Drawing from the infinite inventory of shapes and notes of the universe, Marion Hawecker cuts, accumulates, assembles, weaves invisible threads between here and elsewhere: she composes new landscapes and offers us the chance to reconnect with the primordial pulse, the reverse of the frantic race that our societies impose on themselves.
Born in 1986, Marion Hawecker lives and works in Dole in the Jura (France).
She is the winner of the 2021 Young Creation Crafts Prize
