Julien Wolf

Painter born in 1981, Julien Wolf graduated from the Art section at the Decorative Arts School in Strasbourg where he also learned scenography: this gave him the opportunity to contribute to the development of live performance projects.

Between expressionism and art brut, Julien Wolf practices oil painting, often all over.  - across the entire surface of the canvas. On the borders of abstraction and animality, he captures strange characters, at once grotesque and colorful, carnivorous and carnal.

His abundant, frenetic and sensual works combine the materiality of oil paint, shiny and impasto, the luster of oilbars, the fragility of charcoal...
