Born French to Togolese parents, Alex Ayivi grew up in the Paris region. Today, he believes his work as an artist draws on the two cultures he inherited. A graduate of the Beaux-Arts de Bourges and the ENSAV La Cambre in Brussels, he has exhibited at the Centre de la Gravure de La Louvière (Belgium) and the Cité Internationale des Arts (Paris).

His multidisciplinary work borrows from drawing, screen printing, and painting, combining flat tints, overlays, and fluid outlines. He generally questions the African man in his contemporary history. Between reality and fiction, new narratives are created and anticipate "probable fictions" in a desire for change for the African continent.
